1. Wait 48 Hours Before Washing Allow the color to settle: Right after coloring, avoid washing your hair for at least 48 hours. This gives the color time to fully settle and bond to your hair, helping it last longer.
2. Use Sulfate-Free Shampoos Protect your color: Sulfates can strip color from your hair, making it fade faster. Use a sulfate-free shampoo specifically designed for color-treated hair. These shampoos are gentle and help protect the vibrancy of your color.
3. Avoid Hot Water Preserve your color: Hot water can open up your hair cuticles and cause color to fade more quickly. Wash your hair with lukewarm or cool water to help lock in the color and keep it looking fresh longer.
4. Deep Condition Regularly Moisturize and repair: Coloring can sometimes leave your hair feeling dry. Use a deep conditioning treatment or hair mask once a week to keep your hair hydrated and soft. You can also use leave-in conditioners or oils to nourish your strands.
5. Avoid Frequent Washing Prevent fading: The more often you wash your hair, the quicker the color will fade. Try to wash your hair 2-3 times a week or less. On non-wash days, you can refresh your hair with dry shampoo.
6. Avoid Sun Exposure Protect from UV damage: UV rays can cause hair color to fade over time. If you're going to be in the sun for an extended period, consider wearing a hat or using a UV-protectant hair spray to shield your hair.
